New Day in Christ Prayer Circle: Prayer Requests for the week

New Day in Christ Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) outreach ministry of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in Houston, Texas. Since 2000, we have been sharing the good news of God's radically transforming love by mailing out free daily devotional calendar to anyone who writes, calls, emails or faxes us complete mailing information. Current distribution now averages over 500 devotionals per week, with our total distribution for 2006 was just under 24,000. Approximately 65% of the calendars we send go to individuals in prison, and most of the rest are sent to friends and family members of prisoners, in order to help prisoners stay connected with their outside support.

Volunteer schedule: Volunteers are welcome every Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until noon to help with mailings.

Support programs in your community that help prisoners reintegrate after they have paid their debts to society!

Monetary donations are appreciated and will help us maintain our ministry and reach out to children of inmates, Spanish speaking populations and others!

Not so random acts of kindness: If you have received a devotional, and did not request it, someone you know has requested that we send it to you. We did not just pick your name out of a phone book, we are not soliciting donations or memberships. As part of our ministry, we extend an invitation to each recipient to share a devotional with a loved one or friend. We hope you will accept this free gift as our way of sharing God's love, and we invite you as well, if you feel led to do so, to share the gift with someone you feel would be touched by its message. Please be assured that we only keep statistical data necessary to our ministry. We absolutely do not sell names and addresses to anyone. Prayer Requests for the week

Please lift up in prayer the following individuals, children of God, in need of our care and concern: Linda McClellan, for strength and health, Annie Gant and all the women at Dallas County Jail, Vicky Moore Hammonds, Randy S. To My Dearest Lord

My dearest Lord I wait for you.
There are times where I know not what to do.
Then I pray at bed at night,
I pray that you will help me make it right.
I know that gift can only come from above,
The one that can only show true guidance and love.

Glorious is the Holy Spirit that shows the Lord is near.
How wonderfully grateful I am to know that I need not to have fear.
My lonely pathway in search for wonderous love
is like a soaring eagle or even a lost dove.

Tests and crimes in rugged times how would I, the prisoner, know?
Because you are there and I'm in prayer and you will help me grow.
I have faith, I have strength, I would like you to see
that you are my Father and I am your daughter and you are the only one for me.

Amen.
